Animal Skulls

Something I did on Thanksgiving. I love drawing bones and skulls, so it was a lot of fun to do. I'm still experimenting with color and finding things that work and things that don't.

Here are a couple of paintings from my time spent at Rollstone thus far. Hopefully now that the heat is on I can spend a little more time there!

Raven Chair

Someone donated some old chairs to Rollstone Studios and asked the artists to paint them. I took one and this is what I came up with. It is Halloween after all...

I believe the chairs will be for sale at Rollstone in Fitchburg. If you would like to purchase this one in particular (or have any questions about it), feel free to email me at sophy(at)sophytuttle.com.

Rollstone Studios

I've recently joined an artist's collective/gallery in downtown Fitchburg called Rollstone Studios. It's a great community with some nice studio spaces still available! The only cost is utilities. You can get to our website is here. We're still looking for some more artists to join us... if you're in the area it's a really incredible deal.

This fall, the artists are offering a few d
ifferent classes. Check out the flyer below to see if anything interests you!

Also, I'll be doing henna pumpkins on the first Thursday of October, which I believe is the 7th. It will either be at the studio on Main Street, or at the Concert Festival put on by Fitchburg State on the same day. Details to come!

Productivity!

I have been sooo productive this week. This is a 3d sculpture I started over a year ago. When things got hectic in Baltimore, it sort of fell through the cracks and I forgot about it, but when I moved back here to Massachusetts I found it in a box and finished it up.

On a side note, these colors are a pretty big departure for me (I think) so any constructive criticism would be welcome!

American Illustration

I just found out that Foggy Head was accepted for the American Illustration web gallery! I'm not sure when it will be up, but thanks to the judges and I look forward to seeing it up there.

This was a promo piece that I did and used for postcard mailings to art directors and designers. It was a lot of fun to do... maybe a new direction for me.

Natick Historical Society Posters

I'm currently working on a set of posters for the Natick Historical Society's 140th Anniversary. They're a great organization with a lot of really interesting stuff in their collection. I did a set of posters for them a few months back celebrating the rich sports history over there in Natick, MA and I guess they liked me enough to commission me again!

I'll post some pictures when I get a chance...
